Three Paths to Your Dream Pool

Gunite / Concrete
The most popular choice in Southern California. Completely custom any shape, any depth, any finish. A longer build (6 to 12 weeks) but the result is a permanent, fully personalized structure that lasts 50+ years.

Fiberglass
A prefabricated shell installed in 2 to 4 weeks. Naturally algae-resistant, smooth underfoot, and lower maintenance than concrete. You choose from available shapes rather than going fully custom a great option for quality and faster timeline.

Vinyl Liner
The most accessible entry point for in-ground pool ownership. Fast installation, lower upfront cost, and a clean look. The liner is replaced every several years as part of normal upkeep. Practical for budget-conscious projects or smaller backyards.
From Permits to First Swim
Excavation
The yard is dug to shape and soil hauled out. Flat yards are straightforward; sloped or hillside properties require additional grading work.
Shell Construction
For concrete: steel rebar framework with sprayed concrete. For fiberglass: prefabricated shell craned in. For vinyl: frame assembled and liner fitted.
Plumbing & Electrical
Return lines, skimmers, drains, pump connections, and lighting are all installed and connected during this phase.
Decking & Coping
The perimeter is finished with concrete, pavers, natural stone, or tile โ this is where the design really comes together.
Finish & Fill
Plaster, pebble, tile, or gel coat is applied, the pool is filled, and equipment is commissioned. Your contractor walks you through everything.
Built Into Every Build
California has clear safety requirements for pool installations โ and they're all included in your permitted build, not afterthoughts.
All metal components in and around the pool are electrically bonded together. GFCI protection is required for lighting and all outlets near the water.
California law requires every new pool to have a physical enclosure and at least two approved drowning-prevention features โ fencing, door alarms, safety covers, self-latching gates, and others.
Include These From Day One
It's always easier and more cost-effective to include features during the initial build than to add them later.
Attached Spa
Shares the pool's plumbing and equipment. A spillover spa cascading into the pool is one of the most popular features in SoCal.
LED Lighting
Color-changing LED transforms your pool after dark. Uses a fraction of the energy of older systems. Standard on most modern builds.
Smart Controls
Control your pump, heating, lighting, and water features from your phone. Variable-speed pumps pair perfectly with smart scheduling.
Heat Pump Heater
The most energy-efficient heating option. Uses ambient air to heat water, significantly reducing costs compared to gas โ may qualify for incentives.
Your Contractor Handles Everything
Every in-ground pool in California requires a permit โ and your EverHome contractor takes care of the entire process. Pool plans, engineering details, city submission, inspections โ all handled before any digging begins.
Setback requirements vary by city. Most SoCal municipalities require the pool to sit a minimum of 5 to 10 feet from property lines. Your contractor will confirm what applies to your address.
